Hard materials

The textured and matt surface of Grey Oak laminate may be difficult to clean in certain situations. A product that often works well is “Tanex power”. Be aware that cleaning may cause the matt surface to become slightly shinier in the treated area. If this happens, the entire surface should be cleaned to avoid shiny patches. Always test on a small, less visible area first.

Laminate and HPL surfaces are best maintained by:

• Dusting with a soft cloth.
• Cleaning with a mild soap solution or washing-up liquid and lukewarm water.
• Avoid aggressive cleaners, solvents or abrasive products.
• Wiping with water and then with a dry cloth.

To prevent stubborn stains, always use coasters under cups, vases, glasses, etc. It is important to remove stains as soon as possible to stop them from penetrating the material. Do not use alkaline or alcohol-based cleaners, as they will damage the surface.

Linoleum and marmoleum surfaces are best maintained by:

• Dusting with a soft cloth.
• Cleaning with a mild soap solution or washing-up liquid and lukewarm water.
• Avoiding aggressive cleaners, solvents or products containing abrasives.
• Wiping with water and then with a dry cloth.
• For stubborn stains, a white nylon cloth can be used to gently rub the surface. Dry the area thoroughly afterwards.
• To maintain the surface, use a mixture of water and natural soap or wax regularly. If the surface has lost its finish or is heavily worn, the same mixture can be used to restore it.

Avoid placing products with plastic components in direct sunlight or too close to heat sources, as this may cause discolouration and/or brittleness.

Plastic surfaces are best maintained by:

• Dusting with a soft cloth.
•  Wiping the surface with a cleaner free from solvents or abrasives and a soft cloth – ordinary washing-up liquid works well.

Metal surfaces are best maintained by:

• Cleaning painted surfaces: Wipe with a slightly damp, soft, lint-free cloth and a mild cleaning agent.
• Cleaning textured painted surfaces: Wipe with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and a mild cleaning agent.
• For heavily soiled chrome, aluminium or stainless steel, a damp soft cloth with alcohol can be used.
• Disinfection may be carried out with alcohol, provided the surface is wiped dry afterwards.

Avoid disinfectants that contain bleach as well as hand sanitisers/gels, as these include substances that may leave stains. Our furniture made of laminate, marmoleum and HPL laminate can be disinfected. Flat surfaces on veneered and stained furniture can also be disinfected, but avoid the edges. After wiping, use a clean, soft cloth and water.

• Keep all liquids away from electronic installations. If liquid is spilled, unplug immediately and clean up. If liquid has entered the installation, consult a qualified technician.
• Keep plugs, sockets, keypads and other exposed electronics free from dust and dirt using a vacuum cleaner or a lightly damp cloth. Never wipe directly inside sockets.
• To reduce wear on cables and connectors, ensure that cables are secured separately.
• Avoid placing cables against sharp edges or trapping them in doors, tabletops, cable trays etc., as this increases the risk of wear.
• Never daisy-chain extension sockets, as this may cause overload.
• All installation of electronics must be carried out by authorised personnel. No modification of cables, connectors etc. is permitted.
