For Menigo, growth and sustainability have always gone hand in hand. But how does that work in practice, when it’s time to take the next step in a growth journey while also moving closer towards climate neutrality? After several years of reflection, the answer was clear: to build a new full-range warehouse, strategically located in Landvetter – one of Sweden’s most important logistics hubs. When it came to furnishing the facility, Menigo wanted a partner who could meet their ambitious sustainability goals. The choice fell on Kinnarps, who were commissioned to create an interior design solution that supports Menigo’s needs, today and in the future.
The new warehouse and office in Gothenburg mark Menigo’s largest investment to date – a long-term commitment that takes future growth, logistics capacity and people into account. With a strong focus on innovation, customer value and sustainability, it was only natural that these principles would also shape the interior design.
A key ambition for the project was to choose as much Swedish-made furniture as possible. Ulrika Henson, Office Manager at Menigo, describes this as an important part of the company’s sustainability focus:
“Knowing that most of our furniture has been manufactured just a few miles from here creates both confidence and pride in the project,” she says.

In Menigo’s new full-range warehouse, the transition between warehouse operations and office work is seamless. Employees from both parts of the organisation meet in the building’s shared spaces, strengthening the sense of belonging. In the lounge, employees can sit down in the Yarn armchair or the Oas sofa for a coffee or a chat.

Workstations are framed by the Vibe Focus desk screen, whose sound-absorbing and shielding properties minimise distractions.

In the meeting spaces, upholstered furniture, curtains and fitted carpets create a pleasant acoustic environment.

The Neo Lite chair with a higher seat height encourages active sitting – perfect for creative meetings.
Another key aspect of creating sustainable environments is long-term flexibility. It’s about making conscious decisions so the interior stands the test of time, even as needs evolve. By choosing solutions designed to be updated or renewed, you extend the lifespan of your furniture.
For Menigo, this meant selecting timeless colours and materials that would make it easy to add or adapt in the future. Ulrika Henson explains that Kinnarps provided valuable guidance throughout the process:
“To make sure our interior lasts over time, we’ve chosen furniture based on how it will actually be used. Kinnarps were great at explaining why certain choices made sense, and why others weren’t as sustainable,” she says.

Together with the Central chair, the height-adjustable Hal meeting table allows both seated and standing meetings in the open collaboration areas.

“I love Monroe! We’ve had it for over 15 years in some of our other offices, and it still looks brand new,” says Ulrika Henson about the meeting chair. In the meeting rooms, every other Monroe is without armrests, creating a space that accommodates all body types.

In the entrance area, the Neo Lite chair, Oas sofa, Cobble pouffe and Crest table create a warm and inviting atmosphere that welcomes visitors.
Behind the construction of the new facility were several strategic objectives. One of them, Ulrika Henson explains, was to create a place that employees would genuinely look forward to coming to.
“I want everyone to wake up in the morning and actually want to come to the office because it’s such a pleasant environment. I really believe we’ve achieved that!”
“To make sure our interior lasts over time, we’ve chosen furniture based on how it will actually be used. Kinnarps clearly communicated why some options were more sustainable than others.”

The Domino barstool creates a lively contrast to the Uni table and the minimalist Alto sofa in one of the office’s work lounges.

The Trix armchair and Oberon table provide a comfortable spot – perfect for a phone call or a quick video meeting.

The office also offers enclosed workstations for tasks that require extra focus. The Palette chair and Serie P sit stand desk support a varied posture, helping reduce the negative effects of sedentary work.
In the new full-range warehouse, employees from several departments work side by side. Creating shared spaces that everyone can use was a strategic decision aimed at strengthening cohesion.
“We wanted to strengthen our culture and encourage collaboration across departments. This sense of one Menigo wouldn’t have been possible if we weren’t sharing the same space,” says Ulrika Henson.
Menigo also learned from previous experiences that combining home working with personal desks can lead to low occupancy rates. Therefore, they introduced an activity-based way of working, i.e. choosing your workspace based on the task at hand.
With this new approach, it became easier to design an office that meets a range of needs. By creating a wide selection of spaces and dividing the office into three zones – quiet, semi-active and active – employees are given the right conditions for their work. This flexibility also supports future growth.
In 2024, 99% of Sweden’s electricity generation was fossil-free. This means that manufacturing in Sweden produces significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions than in countries where electricity is generated using fossil fuels such as coal and oil. The majority of Kinnarps furniture is produced in our own factories in Kinnarp, Skillingaryd, Jönköping and Tranås.
With employees from several different departments, the office needs to support a wide range of tasks. Here we see a work lounge designed to accommodate everything from informal meetings and project work to individual tasks at a desk. The variety of different spaces also encourages natural movement among employees throughout the working day.
The key to success in a project of this scale is smooth collaboration. Ulrika Henson gives Kinnarps top marks for both process and results:
“Everyone who’s been here to install the furniture has been so professional! They were careful with everything, knew exactly what went where, and thanks to your use of blankets instead of packaging, there was hardly any waste. Everything went so smoothly – and we’ve had so much fun working together!”
